Time to wish the 'G Team' good luck for our tour of duty at Glastonbury. 24 hours from now, Dan and I will hopefully be arriving with 150,000 others at the Glastonbury Festival. The 'G Spot' tent is already erected and filled with Geographical goodies and information as the support team has gone ahead of us.

It has taken a lot of time, effort and money to prepare the materials and do the planning but hopefully we will get some publicity for the 'Give Geography Its Place' Campaign. We will be working hard for three days talking to people and trying to raise the profile of Geography in their minds. Let's hope enough sober people come through to our tent.....will let you know how it goes and hopefully post some photos on the GGIP website and some of the blogs.

Thanks to you all for all the hard work you are doing. It is a great campaign. Glastonbury is a fantatic event - even better with a GGiP stall too!

It is a tough job but someone had to do it...

on a more serious note, it has already taken a serious amount of effort and we have put up about £500 of our own money to set it all up. This includes hiring a transit van, £1 million public liability insurance (compulsory at Glasto), insurance for a £3500 tent lent to us by the Army Cartographic Unit, consumable materials, etc, etc. We are hoping to recoup some if not all of this through selling a hell of a lot of badges (some of which are very naughty indeed)and postcards.

We are in the 'Green Futures' area, near to the infamous Stone Circle and Sacred Space. We have a 30 foot flag pole with 'G Spot' pennant flying proud so you might be able to pick us out if any cameras come our way. Look out for people walking around (probably in a drunken stupor) with an 'I found the G Spot' sticker on their forehead.....

Just found this report about Glastonbury - lots of facts and figures for the curious!
How many festivals have actually been dry?

Well done to Dave and Dan hope they have a great time - like Princess J. I'm buried under Year 8 reports!
